I’m sure I won’t be the first to admit, I was in no way prepared when I discovered my cat’s first hairball, so gracefully left under the coffee table for me to find. The perils of cat ownership, we LOVE them, we do not LOVE their hairballs. But my oh my do we feel for the little ones and the struggles they face with their floof. We wanted to do our bit in the Republic to cook up recipes that could aid your fur babies with this less than pleasant problem.
So you’re looking for help with… the dreaded Hairballs
The problem – I’m sure we don’t need to go into too much detail, most cat owners will know all too well the perils of stepping out of bed and straight onto a moist, squishy hairball, left in prime position, impossible to avoid. EW.
Can we help? – ABSOLUTELY
How? – For max hairball defences, we say opt for a mixed feeding plan of wet and dry food. You can even select ‘help with hairballs’ as one of your health goals if your cat particularly suffers with this issue. Cats swallow their hair, which then just sits in their little tums. By including a good level of insoluble fibres in their meals, we help to stimulate their intestinal transit (the journey from one end to another), and that helps the hair to pass through more easily. By including our dry food in your cats feeding plan, you’re helping their hairballs by boosting their insoluble fibres levels and digestion, once again hinting that those kibbles are definitely our secret weapon.
Glow up time? – 30% of citizens surveyed that noticed an improvement saw this in just 2-4 weeks of feeding Republic of Cats, what a win.
